Diedrich has not uttered a single syllable regarding cuts to the big money making positions: administration and administrative support.
Nor has she made any motions or supported anything related to reductions in SPEA staffing (teachers).
So...how exactly is she going to reduce the district salary/fringe burden (which now hovers near 85% of the total budget) if she doesn't cut the higher ticket staff? Of course, Diedrich has been overheard to say,
"...if you get enough peanuts, you can get a pound"
Diedrich has long been a leader on the Negotiations Committee, and Local 60 was the only permanent staff class to get stiffed during the last set of contract negotiations.
Remember when we were young and we used to use a magnifying glass to focus the rays of the sun onto some unsuspecting bug? [Ok...guys...you KNOW you did it...and ladies...you know that even though you publicly claimed it was "gross" you still kinda dug on little Jimmy when he was crisping the little critters.]
We can't help but wonder if Ms. Diedrich is not (figuratively speaking) burning the Local 60 staff like little bugs. It sure sounds like she's looking to balance the budget on the (fewer) backs of Local 60.
